Abeille is excited to announce our annual Artist Trunk Show Series. Each week of the Trunk Show Series we will introduce a new local artist. So come by and mix and mingle with our weekly featured artists. (Drinks and snacks will be provided) This series will continue on through late December. Stop in for all of your holiday gift giving needs!

Tanya Moss of Laurels and Moss is a self taught jewelry designer from Brookline, MA. She works with all different metals and beads but especially loves to work with antique metals, wire wrapped beads, and silk ribbons. She is inspired by nature and creates exciting pieces that are comfortable and fun to wear. Come meet Tanya on Wednesday, Nov 30 from 6:00pm-8:30pm

Hanne Bernstein and Jennifer Yogel of Local Color Jewelry, Brookline, MA. Their work features a balance of bold and exquisite designs made with intricate techniques of Viking Knit, crochet and wire wrapping in sterling silver and gold-filled wire.

Launch Party

It’s not everyday that we launch “The Bar”, showcase our impressive local artists in a trunk show, and turn 3! To celebrate this ultimate trifecta-of-sorts we are having a Launch Party!

Come sip on bubbly and munch on snacks while creating your own personalized bracelet at The Bar. Some of our favorite local artists are showing off their fabulous jewelry and accessories at this event to kickoff our 2011 Artist Trunk Show Series. The list of participants include: Caitlin Smith, Tanya Moss, Mr. Moustache Man, Ojas Collection, Jennifer Lippay, Andrea Newman and felting artist Amy Hutchison. This party will be 30’s themed, so be sure to bring out your best fascinator and pin-stripped suites.

We are giving away gift certificates for making one free bracelet at The Bar in-store @ Abeille. These gift certificates are good to use through November 30th. We’re also going to be raffling off some fabulous prizes throughout the night! Come join the festivities and bring your creative spirit to Abeille for a night of swing music and 30’s garb. Dress to impress and save the date: November 4th, 6-9pm.

Weds. 12/15 Polymer Clay Jewelry by AnnEnglish Designs

Please join us on Wednesday, December 15 from 6-8pm for polymer clay jewelry by Jenny, the artist behind AnnEnglish Designs.  Jenny has been creating jewelry since the age of 10 (she jokes she is an old lady at 25), and has done everything from flame worked glass beads to metal smithing. Self-taught, she is constantly looking for new mediums and dove headfirst into the art of polymer clay jewelry three years ago.  Polymer clay has gained much respect as a medium in the past ten years, with juried and museum shows, and Jenny is constantly striving to expand on her techniques.  Whimsy and sophistication are two hallmarks of her polymer work.  She loves the sheer versatility of the clay and greatly enjoys seeing the look of disbelief on people’s faces when she tells them her pieces are made of polymer clay.

Sarah is one of our Junior Artists for Brookline Open Studios and is a multi-talented young lady.  She cooks, she has her own baking business, she knits, paints and draws.  Her first love, however, is jewelry design and crafting, and we are thrilled that she will be participating in our Artist Trunk Show Series.  Sarah will be showing some of her original handmade jewelry.

We’ve just loaded up on lots of goodies … agate, aquamarine, quartz, labradorite, onyx, jade, amethyst and citrine to name a few. We have one of the largest selections of semi-precious stones in the area. If you don’t see what you are looking for, just ask, we may have them in the back.

Do you want to shop the latest jewelry pieces and semi-precious beads at our cozy store? Do you want free seasonal drinks? We thought so! On Sunday, December 13, from 2 to 6 pm, Abeille will be hosting our year-end Holiday Trunk Show. Filled with drinks, jewelry, and people, it is the perfect setting to bring your friends and family, and enjoy the lively atmosphere. We will be featuring museum inspired jewelry from artists who have been creating designs for the most renowned museums in the world. Michelle Rothman from Ojas Jewelry Design and the Abeille Team will showcase their work and help you get a jump start on your holiday shopping. Lars, the bead expert, will be here with some of his works sold at museums around of the world. We will also have semi-precious stones of every color imaginable for the crafty types. Other gorgeous items include wallets and purses by Karen Stern Original.

If you simply need to relax, grab a drink or enjoy a 5 minute massage at Abeille!

Be sure to enter your name for a chance to win one of Abeille’s creations. A name will be drawn at 6pm and you will be notified in person or via email. The lucky winner will be announced at the end of the trunk show.

Celebrate Abeille’s 1st Birthday!

It was a year ago this November the Trachtmans opened Abeille in Brookline Village as an oasis for the crafty and non-crafty alike. To celebrate this milestone, Abeille will be hosting an array of activities kicking off on Thursday, November 5th.

November 5, 6:30pm-9:00pm – Meet and Shop with Five Talented Brookline Jewelry Artists

Michelle Rothman, of Ojas Jewelry Design
 Hanne Bernstein of Danish Jewelry Design
 Sara Harding of Sara Danielle Designs
 Lisa Trachtman of Abeille

From 7-9pm, Jenn Mason will be signing and demonstrating key techniques from her latest book, Altered Paper Jewelry. Sara, Michelle, Hanne and Lisa will be showing their work and are available to answer questions, providing a great opportunity to learn more, support local art and get a head start on your holiday shopping. Participants in the events will be entered into a drawing to win free jewelry.

If you can’t make it to Thursday’s celebration, come join us for a “Girls Night” Workshop on Friday from 6pm-7:30pm. We are offering this workshop at a discounted rate of $10. Wine and refreshments will be served, of course.

We will cap the celebration on Saturday from 12-4pm with a Birthday party celebrating “Jeune Abeille” complete with balloons, face painting, treats and cupcakes baked by junior artist Sarah Silvestri. Magic show starts at 2pm so don’t be late.
