1st Light Festival 2011

Abeille is thrilled to once again be participating in Brookline’s 1st Light Festival on Thursday, November 17 from 5-8pm, a wonderful town-wide event kicking off the Holiday Season. Stop by for an earring making demonstration and make a free pair of earrings during one of the following times:

5:30pm – Make a pair of earrings
6:30pm – Make a pair of earrings
6:30pm – Fairy Visit for kids
7:30pm – Make a pair of earrings

You can also enter our raffle to win a free class at Abeille.

Brookline Junior Open Studios 2010

Brookline Artists Open Studios is welcoming young Brookline based artists (9th-12th grade) to participate in Brookline Artists Open Studios. Each student will be matched with a mentor and have the opportunity to show and/or sell their work during Open Studios in May.

There is no fee to participate but space is limited. The application deadline for Juniors is Tuesday, January 19th. More details can be found at: http://www.brooklineartists.com/junior_os.cfm

Celebrate Abeille’s 1st Birthday!

It was a year ago this November the Trachtmans opened Abeille in Brookline Village as an oasis for the crafty and non-crafty alike. To celebrate this milestone, Abeille will be hosting an array of activities kicking off on Thursday, November 5th.

November 5, 6:30pm-9:00pm – Meet and Shop with Five Talented Brookline Jewelry Artists
Jenn Mason, mixed-media artist and author
Michelle Rothman, of Ojas Jewelry Design
 Hanne Bernstein of Danish Jewelry Design
 Sara Harding of Sara Danielle Designs
 Lisa Trachtman of Abeille

From 7-9pm, Jenn Mason will be signing and demonstrating key techniques from her latest book, Altered Paper Jewelry. Sara, Michelle, Hanne and Lisa will be showing their work and are available to answer questions, providing a great opportunity to learn more, support local art and get a head start on your holiday shopping. Participants in the events will be entered into a drawing to win free jewelry.

If you can’t make it to Thursday’s celebration, come join us for a “Girls Night” Workshop on Friday from 6pm-7:30pm. We are offering this workshop at a discounted rate of $10. Wine and refreshments will be served, of course.

We will cap the celebration on Saturday from 12-4pm with a Birthday party celebrating “Jeune Abeille” complete with balloons, face painting, treats and cupcakes baked by junior artist Sarah Silvestri. Magic show starts at 2pm so don’t be late.
