During early release days, Abeille has created a special program. The skills in each class build upon one another but the sessions have been designed so that you can participate in one class or the entire series.
Thursday, March 11 - Bottle Cap Collage and Charms (I)
You will make mini mixed media masterpieces using decorative papers, rubber stamps, found objects such as buttons, and bottle caps. Learn how to cure your artwork and set them in a non-toxic jewelers resin. If time permits, we will also create charms using shrink art, markers and rubber stamps.
This is a two part session and requires participation on 12/3. The charms and caps will need to cure over night and will be available to string in the December 3rd class.
Tuesday, March 16- Bottle Cap Collage and Charms (II)
In the second half of this session, we’ll cover some wire working techniques to help you put your pieces together to create a wearable piece of art.
Thursday, March 19 – Stamping Extravaganza
In this session you will learn how to use rubber stamps and color effectively. You’ll learn how to position stamps and use a variety of techniques. And, of course, learn how to setup and care for your stamps and markers. You will leave with Birthday and/or Thank you greetings to share with family and friends.
Tuesday, March 30 - Decoupage
You will learn the technique of decoupage to create a stunning one of a kind bracelet cuff or embellished box using decorative papers, text, fabric and found objects. Papers will be provided and feel free to bring your favorite magazines or papers as well. You will have the option to use a non-toxic jewelers resin to make a water resistant cuff. This process takes 36 hours to cure.
Duration: 3 hours with an opportunity to stay later as needed. Material costs additional after 3pm.
Fee: $30 per session, includes materials. Also, participants gain the benefits of the “jeune abeille” club – 10% off materials until 6/1/2010.
