Learn the basic chain stitch and key techniques to create a single-strand beaded necklace or wrap bracelet using either wire or cotton to mimic popular designer jewelry.

If you do not complete the necklace during class, you are welcome to use our community table to continue working. Cross Woven Bracelet Class

Learn how to make this sparkling and dazzling bracelet in just one class – even if you have never beaded before. You will learn a technique known as “crossweaving” which is so gorgeous and easy, that you will want to make this piece in all different colors, over and over again. You will be able to leave class with a finished bracelet.

Materials:

Please come 15-20 minutes early to make your selections.
2 colors of “main beads” – Swarovski or other 4mm bicones, druks (round beads) 6mm or smaller, all work well. (100, 4mm beads or 75, 6mm beads will give you more than enough to make the bracelet).
150 coordinating cube beads (optional)
2 tube size 11/0 seed beads
clasp
2 wire guardians
size 10 needle, wax, scissors and fireline thread available for use during class

Leather Weaved Wrap Bracelet Class

Learn to create this amazing bracelet worn by many celebrities and seen in InStyle, Lucky, Cosmo, Self and Marie Claire.

In this class, you will learn how to interweave beads, pearls, semi-precious stones or rhinestone chain onto leather to make this popular-style bracelet your own. You chose the lengths and the stones, and we’ll show you the technique. This bracelet can be wrapped or stacked –it’s your choice. The use of tools during class is included in the class fee and the materials of your choice are additional. 10% off all supplies the day of the class.

This technique is easy to learn and appropriate for all levels of experience. There is some detail work so please bring glasses, if needed.

Note: You can expect to complete one wrap during class. We will demonstrate the finishing technique and provide detailed instructions so that you can complete the bracelet at home, should you wish to lavish your wrist with multiple wraps. At the end of class, you are also welcome to work at our community table until the store closes.

We have lots of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby–come on by and make a day out of it!

Learn to make a beautiful Swarovski® crystal ring. Techniques covered in the class include right-angle stitch and other ways of working with seed beads and mono-filament.

This class is suited for all skill levels and is a wonderful introduction to making beaded rings. Also, with so many colors to pick from, the color combinations are endless! One sparkling flower rings will be completed in class.

How To: Wire Wrap Sea Glass

Summer is here, and it’s a great time to enjoy bright cheery colors, walks on the beach and collecting shells and sea glass. Abeille just received more drilled and un-drilled sea glass, so we thought it would be fun to share a simple way to work with un-drilled stones.

Tools: round nose pliers, wire cutters, flat nose pliers
Materials: sea glass, wire (22-26 gauges), beads (optional)

1. Cut about 1 foot of wire using wire cutters.
2. Using your round nose pliers, hold the wire about 1″ from the end. Create a “wire wrapped loop” by bending the wire around the plier with your hand to make a loop. Then hold the end of the short piecewith your flat nosed pliers. While holding the round nose pliers, use the flat nose pliers to wrap the short piece of wire around the longer piece of wire a couple of times. Trim the excess wire with cutters.
3. Now let’s get wrapping. Place the loop at the top of the sea glass. Hold it in place with one hand as you wrap tightly with the other. You can wrap as much as you like as long as it holds the glass from falling out (criss-crossing helps).
4. To finish, wrap your way to the top where you created the initial loop and wrap to blend in with the initial wrap at the bottom or overlap the existing wraps working up. Use your flat-nose pliers to push the sharp cut end into the piece.

Depending on the size of the glass, you can use it as a pendant or make two for earrings.

In this class, you will create two rings: (1) a modern ring using a focal bead or button and (2) a ring using a flat stone or bead. We will cover basic wire-working techniques, gauge and tools. You will also learn how to use a ring mandrel and create rings in specific sizes.
